What Is Dalgona?

If you ever wanted to try it yourself, this easy homemade dalgona recipe will make it happen!
What You Will Need
You shouldn’t worry about what is in dalgona Korean candy, because dalgona candy ingredients are simple and could be found in any kitchen. All you’re gonna need is 2 tbsp. sugar (white or brown) and baking soda. As for the tools, prepare the measuring ladle, parchment paper, and molds that you will use for the center shape.
Dalgona Candy Recipe
Get the parchment paper ready on a baking sheet. Spray half of it with a cooking spray.
Pour sugar into a ladle and place it over medium heat. Stir the sugar for approximately 2 minutes, or until it starts melting.
Once all the sugar is liquidized, move the ladle away from the flame. Slowly add a pinch of baking soda. Be very careful with the amount of soda you’re using, because too much of it will make the candy bitter. Stir until it is fully dissolved.
Pour the melted sugar onto the unoiled side of the parchment paper. Then, fold the other side over the cookie, flatten it with the skillet/press/anything flat, uncover. Finally, quickly press the mold in the center, and leave it to cool.
Enjoy your homemade dalgona candy!
If you are planning on making more than one cookie, have some boiling water on the stove ready. You will need it to clean the ladle during making the batches. Dry it with a paper towel and your ladle is ready to be used again!
You can also use a saucepan or small skillet instead of the ladle. Make sure to spread the sugar evenly across the surface. Start stirring after the sugar is completely melted. After the mixture turns pale amber, proceed to Step 3.
Here’s a dalgona candy challenge tip. There is a way to make the game easier or harder. When you are using the mold or cookie cutter to form a shape in the center, press down harder to make the game easier. On the other hand, the lighter you press, the harder it will be to remove the shape from the candy.
You might find it difficult to remove the mold without it sticking to the candy. To prevent ruining your dalgona candy, try spraying the tool with some cooking oil.
